For eight days in June, two anti virus squads patrolled the streets of Toronto disinfecting virus-stricken laptops. Teams of three “bit defenders” and a laptop-holding businessman performed virus wipe-out skits where the squads demonstrated the severity of today’s computer virus problem.

Following each skit, street team reps handed out promotional material, took pictures with passersby, and gave away free BitDefender antivirus software.

This campaign generated a lot of word of mouth and viral buzz. It was even covered on the CTV 6 o’clock news. Check out the story here – fast forward to 1:30 of the video.
